• Confirmed: Apple and AT&T signed five-year iPhone exclusivity deal: Some interesting insights into the nature of AT&T and Apple's relationship, including this gem:

  "[T]here was widespread disclosure of [AT&T's] five-year exclusivity and no suggestion by Apple or anyone else that iPhones would become unlocked after two years..."

  You got that right.

• Accepting nominations for Ars Design Awards 2010—Mac OS X: Glad to see Ars stepping up, here.

• Verizon iPhone chatter is getting harder (than usual) to ignore: I've talked about the iPhone coming to Verizon before, but I think it's really happening this time. Nearly all of Android's growth in the US over the last 6 months is due to that platform's availability on Verizon. So in order counter that, Apple has to swim in the same pool.

• A reconciling proposal: In contrast with Gruber, I think that allowing Open Source frameworks on iPhone OS is a great idea, and addresses all of Apple's concerns leading up to section 3.3.1.

  But that said, I'm not holding my breath.

• Comedy Central releases 'Futurama' image, date: Oh hell yes. I sure hop this is available in HD on iTunes.

• Zeitgeist attracting new Rockstars: Some neat innovation coming out of the Gnome camp. Be sure to check out the first video. (via Ryan Paul)
