  • Worldview Shattering: I wouldn't go so far to say that I thought that racism was a solve problem, but the events in #Ferguson have shown me that it's much worse than I thought.

  • Why Apple Will Switch To ARM-Based Macs: I'm still deeply skeptical that Apple will do another CPU architecture transition for the Mac. I think that producing a separate line of CPUs, targeting high performance, high TDP, would be a significant engineering effort. And the Mac is still so tiny, in # of units sold per year, to make that investment unfeasible. The reason why it works for iOS devices is that Apple sells a lot of them every year, amortizing the cost of A-series CPU development over a lot of different devices.

  • Building 3D with Ikea: Pretty interesting, I wouldn't have guessed that these images are CGI. (via Michael Tsai)

  • Portable, Closed Headphones Mega-Review: While I haven't listened to nearly any of the headphones on this list, my pick would still be what I have at work, the Bose QC15. I think that Marco underplays the importance of noise canceling -- in noisy environments, I think it's important to be able to maintain a lower volume, to protect your ears.

  • Games and Good Enough: When I observe my own habits, other than Carcassonne, I hardly ever play games on my iPhone / iPad. However, after buying Playstation Plus last year, I've been playing my PS3 like crazy. I think that smartphones / tablets have made certain kinds of games way more accessible, but there is still room for deep, console/PC gaming experiences also. They are more complimentary, not competitive.
