  • Life With Tesla Model S: One Year And 15,000 Miles Later: David Nolan on owning the Tesla Model S. This bit about what he likes is amazing:

"Getting my 12-Volt battery replaced was the single most positive automobile-service experience of my life. It started when I got a phone call out of the blue from the White Plains service center. Carla said they'd just gotten an e-mail from Tesla engineering in California.

It seems I was having problems with my 12-Volt battery. Frankly, I was unaware that I even had a 12-Volt battery, much less a problem with it. But Tesla's system of remote monitoring had detected a problem with mine. Would I mind if two Tesla Service Rangers came out to my house that morning to replace it?"

But the car isn't perfect. I liked this as well, on the touch screen interface:
"Worse, my occasionally numb screen sometimes requires multiple stabs of the finger, which multiplies the distraction."

  • Despite Comcast-Netflix deal, settlement-free peering is alive and well: A decent rundown of the Netflix/Comcast situation. It's more complicated than it seems, but this quote stood out:

"I yearn for a day when we see true competition in the last mile — when providers compete on their ability to both innovate and deliver a good service for a fair price."
    I wholeheartedly agree.

  • Why Veronica Mars embraced UltraViolet and angered fans: I've known that UltraViolet is not very good for awhile, but thanks to Veronica Mars, lots of other people are discovering this as well. This article was a thorough takedown, and I especially loved this bit:

"Backers of Veronica Mars were, of course, pointed to Flixster and UltraViolet because Veronica Mars and Flixster are both Warner-owned properties... The rationale given by Warner Bros. is that UltraViolet and Flixster were the only option that allowed them to distribute the movie globally and simultaneously. That is patently false."

  • Steve Jobs Hated The Idea Of A Multi-Button Mouse, Designer Claims: Some nice anecdotes about Steve Jobs, and Apple's design process.
