  • Two minutes, fifty-six seconds: I have been pretty confused by the iPhone 5C since yesterday's announcement. Price-wise, it doesn't represent a change in strategy (it's just an iPhone 5 for $100 less, which is what they do every year). But marketing-wise, and in terms of what they are going to promote, this will be a change. And that could lead to a change of perception.

While I think that the iPhone 5C will sell well, I don't think that this changes the game, or really helps Apple to maintain market share. Ben Thompson has some good analysis of this, but like with all things, time will tell.

  • Folklore.org: The Macintosh Spirit: John Siracusa tweeted this link to an old article by Andy Hertzfeld, on the genesis of the Macintosh. This quote really stood out to me.

"Most technology development is incremental, but every once in a while there's an opportunity to make a quantum leap to a whole new level."
The downside of Apple having released so many "quantum leap" type products is that now people expect it, with a frequency that simply isn't realistic.

  • Twitter Co-Creator Ev Williams Stretches the Medium: I'm a fan of any sort of software that helps people communicate, so I've been tracking Medium for awhile. I thought that this was a nice profile, and I'm interested to see where Medium goes from here.
