  • Which iPhones Survive After September 12?: I agree with Gruber that Apple needs to attack the pre-paid market (I think that post-paid is getting pretty saturated, at this point). However, the 3GS has to go. The CPU is so slow, that they surely don't want to keep supporting it in iOS any longer. I think that Apple needs to design an iPhone specifically for the pre-paid market. Maybe a sortof "3GS+" — something with the same physical design and non-retina display, but with an updated CPU and more RAM.

  • Sony's 4K XBR-84X900 shipping in November for a massive $25,000: Yeah, so that's the kicker on that 4K TV that I linked to earlier.

  • Weird Secrets of The Avengers That You'd Never Have Guessed: Pretty cool article in io9 about some of the tricks employed by ILM to make "The Avengers" look the way that it did.

  • Alexis Bledel Obama Campaign: Nice, short interview with Alexis Bledel on why she's supporting the Obama campaign.

  • Cachet: I like this blog post by Daniel Jalkut, and what makes Twitter different from it's competitors:

"That’s where Twitter comes in. The reason I spend the vast majority of my time reading and interacting with friends, acquaintances, and strangers on Twitter, is because the expectation of quality is high. Twitter, like blogging before it, has been broadly ridiculed as being about “what I ate for breakfast.” But in practice, that’s just not the case. The 140-character limit, and certain cultural expectations among the users I interact with, means that cutting humor, philosophical insight, and up-to-the-minute gossip and news, are to be expected. In short? Twitter has cachet."
This is why I really enjoy reading my tweets every day.
