  • Why I left Google. What happened to my book. What I work on at Facebook: Interesting blog post from Paul Adams, who did some early social software work at Google, before moving to Facebook. This quote really struck me:

"Many of you have asked me why my book ‘Social Circles‘ was delayed… I wrote the book in collaboration with Google, and in June 2010 they officially gave me written permission to publish it. The book content, the title, and the cover all existed prior to Emerald Sea (Google+)… Google verbally rescinded permission to publish, and blocked me from publishing until after Google+ launched. I understood and respected their decision at the time. However, they continue to block it. Now that Google+ has launched, I honestly can’t see why they don’t respond to my emails requesting permission to publish."

Is Google getting more Microsoftian by the day?

  • The Day Comcast's Data Cap Policy Killed my Internet for 1 Year: If you think that we don't need Net Neutrality, and that the free market is going to take care of getting broadband to every American, then you really need to read this. Broadband Internet should be treated more like water pipes (base infrastructure owned by the community), rather than how it works in this country today.

  • The Engadget Interview: HP's Stephen DeWitt: Pretty interesting interview with the new guy in charge of webOS. Judging solely from this interview, it seems like Stephen DeWitt "gets it". Whether or not he and HP will execute, however, is another story all together.
