  • E3 2011: John Carmack talks Wii U, PlayStation Vita, and next-gen Rage: Great interview with John Carmack about the state of the videogame industry, at least from id Software's perspective.

  • ARC: Jesper on some new Automatic Reference Counting stuff coming soon to Apple's Objective-C, which if I understand correctly, is some pretty cool stuff.

  • iTunes 10.5 Beta is 64-bit, and... Cocoa?: I'm wondering if Apple is allowing apps that use a specific subset of Carbon to be 64-bit in Lion? I find it pretty implausible that they totally re-wrote iTunes... I'll be pretty curious to dig under the hood here once Lion comes out.

  • Why Windows 8 fails to learn the iPad's lessons: The reaction to Windows 8 from the Mac press has been pretty negative. Me, I'm not so sure. I think that the Windows 8 demo looked pretty slick. Just because the only way Apple found to do a touch based UI was to totally create something new from scratch, doesn't mean that's the only way to do it. I'm content to let Microsoft ship their hybrid approach, and see how it actually works in practice, before I pre-judge gloom and doom.

  • Stephen Elop's Nokia Adventure: Great article in Business Week, tracing Nokia's current woes back to their origin, and highlighting how Stephen Elop is trying to fix it.

  • The U.S. Postal Service Nears Collapse: Pretty interesting article on the USPS. It seems like it's possible for them to fix their problems, but maybe it's not likely.
