  • Another Inside Job: Regarding the state of financial regulation, Paul Krugman concludes:

"In the days and weeks ahead, we’ll see pro-banker politicians denounce the proposed settlement, asserting that it’s all about defending the rule of law. But what they’re actually defending is the exact opposite — a system in which only the little people have to obey the law, while the rich, and bankers especially, can cheat and defraud without consequences."
If you haven't yet seen "Inside Job", I highly recommend it. I think it really explains what's going on with the financial system in America.

  • Here’s Why Developers Are Scaring Twitter: Interesting analysis of twitter client usage, from a company called Sysomos.

  • Quicklook: Frenzy, Dropbox-driven social network for your Mac (hint: it’s great): While I haven't tried this yet myself, it does look interesting.

  • On Leaving Flickr: Interesting perspective from former Yahoo! employee, Matthew Rothenberg:

"Very early in my career at Flickr, I worked on the first version of our mobile website. Shortly after launch, while I was travelling on a business trip in the UK, I was waiting for my delayed flight home in Heathrow Airport, bored and lonely. I pulled up m.flickr.com on my Treo 650 and within seconds was looking at a photo my dogsitter had taken of my pooch minutes before, and was able to engage in a conversation in the comments with her. Nowadays, these sort of interactions seem old hat, but at the time I distinctly remember thinking: I helped build something that will change people’s lives for the better."
I'm a pretty big Flickr fan, and I hope that Yahoo! continues to treat it well.

  • An interview with Bryan Lee O'Malley : The Setup: Hilarious interview with Bryan Lee O'Malley, including this bit on mice:

"I have a regular Mac keyboard and one of these dumb new Mac touchpad things (it looks like a coaster, but it's designed to be at a stupid angle all the time). I keep switching mice and keyboards because of my troubles. I tried a Magic Mouse for a while and it sucked, now I have the trackpad thingy and it also sucks. I used to have an ergonomic "handshake" mouse and that kind of sucked too. I honestly do not think there's an input device in the world that I can truly love."
Not long, well worth a read.

  • iPhoto for iOS: I'd be shocked if we don't see iPhoto for iPad next year. Apple has used iLife to sell Macs, and now they're going to use it to sell iPads.
