  • Salman Khan: Let's use video to reinvent education: This 20-minute TED talk is fantastic, and a total must-watch. Salman Khan is very smart, and has benefited tremendously from some serendipity (via YouTube, and the Internet at large) along the way. (via Rushabh Doshi)

  • I’m a qwitter: I'm not ready to dump Twitter yet (because I really, really like it), but this latest policy change is really bumming me out. And Jens makes a good point:

"I just can’t resist pointing out that two of the major components of Twitter’s content model—the @-mention and the #hashtag—were invented by early users and app developers, not by Twitter itself, then later integrated directly into the system to make them more useful. That’s a great example of collaborative development. Now, perversely, Twitter sees fit to tell app developers exactly how they can and can’t represent those same features in their UIs."

I can't help but think that this change is going to make Twitter less innovative, going forward.  (via Michael Tsai)

  • What’s on that A5 Chip? (Update: It is a Samsung and it has 512MB of RAM): This is somewhat surprising — I was totally buying the rumors that Apple switched to TSMC to manufacture the A5.

  • Hello, I must be going: Joshua Topolsky, editor-in-chief of Engadget, announces his departure. Nilay Patel also announced his departure today. I really got into Engadget over a year ago, and it's sad to see all of the senior staff depart in less than a month. I hope that the site continues on, but I'm not optimistic that it will be as good.

  • Massive earthquake hits Japan: Some incredible photography from "The Big Picture" blog.

  • iPad 2 sales on eBay are brisk, going as high as $4000: I hope nobody actually pays $4k for an iPad, because that is just ridiculous.
