  • Who killed the Intel microprocessor?: Normally, Horace Dediu is spot on, but I'm not buying his take here. I think that going forward, modern smartphones are going to look a lot more like PCs internally. And that plays more strongly into Intel's wheelhouse, than ARM's.

    But, as they say, time will tell.

  • Intel/NVIDIA bombshell: look for NVIDIA GPU on Intel processor die: This is pretty screwy on it's face (why would NVIDIA let Intel use its most important assets?), but I guess the logic is that by exiting the chipset business, NVIDIA isn't going to have any presence in machines with integrated graphics. So, if Intel builds an NVIDIA GPU into a future chip, then at least NVIDIA will get some licensing cash from that.

    The other way to read this, is that NVIDIA is betting the company on Tegra and Project Denver. Which is a pretty gutsy move, given the competition.
