  • Tim Minear responds to 'Terriers' axe: Tim Minear, of Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse fame, on Terriers:

"Ted talked about how proud he was of the show, of the cast and the crew and staff, and how we felt we'd made the thing we set out to make. I'm four square with Ted Griffin on this. This was a great experience for me - getting to work with Shawn Ryan again and meeting and working with Ted, not to mention the cast - Donal [Logue] and Michael [Raymond-James] in particular are amazing artists - and the relationship with FX was bracing and creatively terrific."

  • Don't shoot messenger for revealing uncomfortable truths: Julian Assange on what he thinks Wikileaks is:

"WikiLeaks coined a new type of journalism: scientific journalism. We work with other media outlets to bring people the news, but also to prove it is true. Scientific journalism allows you to read a news story, then to click online to see the original document it is based on. That way you can judge for yourself: Is the story true? Did the journalist report it accurately?"
One of the central advantages of the web is that there is room to publish everything, which is not something that professional journalism has really experienced before.

But there is more than just this bit worth mentioning — the entire article is well worth a read. (via Daring Fireball)

  • Why rivals Google and Apple agree on HTML5: To Apple, HTML5 has two advantages:

    1. No single entity controls it, so Apple is free to build its own implementation, that is optimized for it's hardware

    2. This sort of open technology is clearly where the web is going, and Steve Jobs is pretty decent in mapping out technology trends, and not trying to fight his way upstream.

  • Report: iPad 2 coming in April: Sounds right to me, but be aware of these reports, they all come from a rumor floated by Digitimes, which is frequently incorrect.
