  • iPhone 4 Deemed Most Reliable, Least Rugged Among Popular Smartphones: So far, my iPhone 4 has survived a few short drops. But by far, breaking the glass is my #1 concern with this phone.

  • Apple's Pricing Advantage: Must-read piece from John Gruber. For their devices, Apple's focus on mass producing a small number of variations means that they can be pretty brutal on price. I think that the influence of the carriers has kept the iPhone from being a category-dominating hit like the iPod line. But with the iPad, there is more of a green field. I think that if Apple doesn't allow the iPad to be undercut too significantly on price, they could end up owning the whole tablet computing space, just like they did music with the iPod. And that could put Apple in a very powerful position, indeed.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab impressions: I'll be interested to read the full Boy Genius review, but the initial impressions don't seem to be encouraging. (via Daring Fireball)

  • The price of muni broadband? Eternal war with Time Warner Cable: I think that municipal broadband is totally the way to go, and it's disappointing (but not surprising) to see the cable companies be such jerks about it.

  • Breakaway (YouTube): Still don't believe Apple and Verizon are getting cozy? When is the last time you saw AT&T advertise for the iPad, or the iPhone for that matter?
