Despite sickness, Sara and I hauled our ashes down to Chicago to catch The Frames at the Vic Theatre:
And what can I say? The Frames are amazing. As opposed to a lot of other acts, there isn't any rehearsed theatrics, pyrotechnics, or other shenanigans. It's just the band, their instruments, their voices, and their clear passion for what they are doing. They played for a really long time (over 2 hours), and seemed to really be enjoying themselves, and the crowd in Chicago. I can't be sure, but I think that they intended to end on "Fitzcarraldo", but played one more song after that, because they didn't want to leave.
If you ever get a chance to see The Frames live, I highly recommend it. More photos on Flickr.
