  • AT&T boss: we're innovating way too fast for regulation!: AT&T is not to be believed, and Nate Anderson nails it:

'If Stephenson really wants to head off net neutrality rules, he would probably best be served by putting his top techies to work building a time machine, then jumping back to 2005 in order to cold-cock then-CEO Ed Whitacre... who started so much of the current mess in the first place with his comments about how Google wants to "use my pipes free" but "I ain't going to let them do that."'

  • George Lucas Stole Chewbacca, But It’s Okay: Michael Heilemann has written a long, detailed, and all-around excellent look into how the character of Chewbacca was created. Highly recommended to all Star Wars fans. (via Hacker News)

  • NBCU CEO unlikely to join Apple 99-cent rentals: This pretty funny — I'm pretty sure that most NBC content isn't even worth 99 cents, much less the $1.99 that they would like to charge.

This sort of thing doesn't bode well for Apple's TV efforts.
