UVa First-Year Student Computer Inventory: Year-to-Year Comparisons: Amazing to see the rise of laptops, and of Macintoshes with first year students at the University of Virginia.
iAds now let developers sell their apps on App Store within-an-ad: Apple is leveraging their ad platform to provide functionality that no other platform can provide (due to Apple's restrictions set forth by the App Store). Hmm...
Dell plays shell games in comparing PCs to Macs: I think that the upswing in Mac sales means that people are figuring out that generally, you get what you pay for. And with most sub-$1000 laptops, in particular, the build quality is pretty lacking. I don't see tactics like this one from Dell, or the new FUD site from Microsoft, changing the Macintosh's momentum. If PC builders really want to take on Apple, they should focus on making incredibly well-engineered, high quality products.
It only delays: the frustrations of Sony's PS3 firmware: I echoed a similar sentiment on Twitter a month ago. Sony really continues to struggle with software, which is really going to make it hard for them going forward.
Apple Loved You Pro Users: Pretty good run down of Apple's high-end Macintosh pricing over time. Hindsight being 20/20, it seems like the 2008 Mac Pro was really the way to go, in terms of price vs. performance.
Your beautiful eyes: Pretty amazing macro photos of the human eye. (via Daring Fireball)
