iPhone 4 Is Nice, But It's Not Enough to Slow Android: Interesting counter point on the iPhone 4 by Louis Gray. While I don't agree with everything, this part of the conclusion resonated:
"Apple, I didn't want a thinner iPhone that's slightly faster and better looking. I wanted a promise that the new one would make phone calls, act as a fantastic Web device, and provide 3G access to other devices."
I think that in general, people care about being to make calls when they need to, and being able to get access to the internet (say for example, to get a map when lost) when they need to. So not only do you have to make a good experience, but it has to be reliable as well. Apple is doing well on the former, but in the U.S. at least, has lost sight of the latter. Father of webOS notifications leaves for Apple: More brain drain from Palm — which re-inforces my notion that the future of webOS is in doubt. (via MacRumors)
Don’t Buy The HTC EVO, It Is A Seriously Flawed Device: Scathing critique of the battery life of the new EVO 4G from Michael Arrington. I'm seeing conflicting reports on the web about the battery life of this device. But it looks like no matter what, the battery life of the EVO 4G isn't as good as the iPhone.
