A closer look shows Apple's A4 is "tailored," not "bespoke": Some interesting details continue to emerge about Apple's A4 CPU. I think the reason why Apple is getting into the CPU game is about control: they control when the CPU is available, what features it has, and can balance the processing elements between normal general purpose computing, and graphics.
