I went by the Apple Store on Chestnut St. on my way home tonight (around 11 PM), and I was surprised to find a line of about 15 people or so, prepared to camp out all night in order to get a new iPhone tomorrow. The Chestnut St. store is tiny and out of the way, so I assumed that there wouldn't be a lineup. It's amazing the level of desire Apple is able to achieve for their latest and greatest phone.
And part of it, has to do with the secrecy. They won't even give the dedicated fans in line a taste — instead, their setting up the displays of new iPhones in secrecy:
Apple Store, Chestnut St., pre-iPhone 4
I think that tomorrow is shaping up to be a pretty crazy day.
