  • Computex will bring Android ARM tablets, but are they ready?: This pretty much sums up why I'm not too excited about an Android tablet:

"The one fly in the ARM/Android tablet ointment is the fact that none of the apps in the Android Market are designed for a tablet interface. And, even if they were, the fact that Android tablets will come in a variety of screen resolutions will make things a mess. Right now, it looks like the early Android tablet adopters will be running apps in some kind of janky upscaled mode—and when the 'Android HD' apps do finally arrive, they may be optimized for a screen resolution that your device doesn't support. • Exclusive: Firefly Writer Talks Getting Nathan Fillion Naked: Great interview with Jose Molina, which contains a lot of insider tidbits from the "Firefly" days:

"...I think it's a great encapsulation of all the things we were trying to show the network we could be. We could do cool, action-heavy sci-fi with the floaty islands of Bellerophon and Jayne and everybody stunting it out on the hull of Serenity. We could do great Moonlighting-style banter with Saffron and Mal. We could do big mythology without being boring and complicated -- the 'I can kill you with my brain' scene was written by Joss and is one of my favorite scenes in the script. And we could embrace OUR brand of sci-fi -- the kind where the greatest treasure in the 'verse is an old piece of junk gun. And we could strip Nathan Fillion naked and actually have it be part of the plot. What more do you want"

    Well worth a read.

  • Possible Introduction of Safari Extensions at WWDC?: Seeing as how Apple wants to push HTML5, the launch of a Safari 5 beta at WWDC makes a lot of sense. I wonder if the goal behind extension support in Safari is to simply stop defections to other browsers, or if Apple will hype it as a way to gain more privacy when browsing (ala NoScript)?
