I messed around at Bay to Breakers this morning with some friends. Even though it wasn't very sunny, and was in fact pretty darn cold, it didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits (the crowd was enormous this year).
Well, the copious amount of drinking by practically all involved probably helped.
I took lots of pictures, here is one of my favorites:
It's the Hot Tub Time Machine, powered by Chernobly
More good stuff (that I took):
- Mario Kart — these guys went all out, their costumes were superb.
- Glen Beck For President
- "Obama Half-Breed Muslin" — the flip side of the previous sign.
- Elvises
There were lots of good political barbs. Frequent targets were Arizona, corrupt bankers, Fox News, and Sarah Palin. Here are some other decent photos that I found on Flickr (not taken by me):
- Final Lap — I can't resist more Mario Kart goodness.
- "God Hates Fog" — a riff on this. Also I just noticed the sign in the back: "My census info is private but not your uterus". Hilarious.
- Frank Chu Parody — a riff on the real Frank Chu (who I see pretty often now that I work in the city). Well done.
- Thanks to Fox News — pay attention to the spelling.
- Say No To Pants — these guys were pretty popular.
All-in-all it was fun, but I'm tired, and it's looking pretty likely that I'm going to turn in early tonight. ;)
