I'm still working on collecting my thoughts on the iPad. In the meantime, here are some links from around the web, of things that I thought were interesting about the iPad, and it's launch:
iPad Teardown: God bless iFixit.
I’m calling it now: The laptop starts dying...: While this could happen, I'm not quite ready to call time of death on the point and shoot camera or the laptop just yet. Food for thought, however.
Steve Jobs Personally Demos iPad For One Lucky Customer: Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ive both paid visits to Apple stores on Saturday. Pretty cool. See also more photos of Jonathan Ive, and Steve Jobs.
Walkthrough: Initial iPad Setup: It's kindof crazy that the iPad requires being tethered to iTunes in order to get started. This means that you can't quite use it as a computer replacement — you still have to have some sort of iTunes capable machine around, especially if you want to make backups.
The story behind the iPad's home screen photo: Pretty cool story about the default wallpaper on the iPad.
iPad Tech Specs: Cortex A8, 256MB Ram, PowerVR SGX 535: Overview of the iPad internals. I'm surprised by how little RAM the device has.
Chris Glass » touched: The screen definitely does get smudgy.
