More Patent Nonsense: Can you tell that I'm not into software patents?
What is Apple up to?: Dave Winer, on speculation that Apple might store iTunes content in the cloud:
"To Apple, a perfect world is one where every moment a user is reading, listening or watching causes cash to flow back to Apple."
While I think that this was Microsoft's goal in the late 90's / early 2000's, I'm not so sure that this is Apple's goal. It could be though, and it's worth keeping an eye on. What's even better about this whole thing is that during the iPad event, Steve Jobs acknowledged that the iBooks app is "standing on the shoulders" of Amazon's Kindle. It also clearly apes the design of Wil Shipley's Delicious Library. All technology builds on what came before. That's how it works.
