litl OS: Card View and Browser on Vimeo: John Gruber mentioned the 'litl' last week, and of all of the videos, this most clearly highlights the innovation in the UI. This feels a lot more "Apple-like" to me, and makes the Chrome OS UI look quite poor in comparison.
Chrome OS: Internet failing at PC > PC failing at Internet: Good overview of the position of Google's Chrome OS in the PC market. Jon Stokes concludes:
"So while I could write a book about all the ways in which Apple and Microsoft have failed at the Internet over the past decade, as of today I can only write a few lines about the ways in which ChromeOS may or may not fail at the PC. And in 2009, it's a much bigger deal for a PC company to fail at the Internet than it is for an Internet company to fail at the PC. Right now, at least, Google has time on its side, and the company can afford to release cloud clients (Android and ChromeOS) that start out awkward and immature, and let them develop as the user-facing part of a still-evolving cloud."
I too, could write several blog posts about how Microsoft and Apple have failed to grasp the true nature of the Internet. This is why Chrome OS is so interesting to me.
Another Cloud Reel ... on Vimeo: Fun stop-motion video from around the Bay Area. The planes landing at SFO are especially amazing. (via Annie Scudder)
