The Quest Continues for a Tablet PC - NYTimes.com: Pretty good article about the state of Tablet computers from the New York Times. In particular, I liked this:
“I can imagine something like the iPhone with a much bigger screen being a gorgeous device with great capacity, but I don’t know where I would fit that into my life,†said a former Apple executive, who declined to be named because of Apple’s secrecy policies, but who anticipates an Apple tablet next year. “Those are the debates that have been happening inside Apple for quite some time.â€
A pretty accurate summary as to why we haven't seen an Apple tablet as of yet, and why we may not even see one next year.
Apple Leaving Chamber of Commerce Over Climate Change Stance - washingtonpost.com: Good on them. I'm liking what Apple is doing environmentally. One of the things that is making me want to continue to be their customer.
Afterlife: Review of an unproduced Joss Whedon script from the 90's, which looks like it has been recycled into Dollhouse. What's interesting is this quote:
"I don’t think it’s a stretch at this point to declare that, simply put, Joss knows that people (characters) make the best stories. He understands relationships."
While I agree with the above quote, and it is typically something that Joss does well, I think that this is sorely lacking from Dolhouse. The lack of characters, and their relationships, is what is really frustrating me about Dollhouse. Who am I rooting for on this show? I think that Joss can potenitally pull this out. I hope.
Zombieland is #1 at the Box Office For Its Opening Weekend - BuzzSugar: Caught a showing of this with Kevin, Nate, and Jessica over the weekend, and I thought it rocked. Super funny. With "Up" and "The Hangover", 2009 has been a good one for comedies.
Exaflood Creator Hard At Work Crafting New Nonsense: My co-worker linked to a recent WSJ piece by Bret Swenson, who is clearly in the pocket of Big Telecom. And of course, because he doesn't state in the article where is funding comes from, is not to be trusted.
Intel set-top chip decodes dual 1080p, handles 3D | Electronista: I think we just found the CPU that will be inside the next Apple TV.
