Munster: AppleTV Ready For Its Close-Up - BusinessWeek: Arik Hesseldahl nails it:
"As I argued in February, the most important change that should come to AppleTV is a development environment for applications, similar to the iPhone. Not only should the device be opened up to developers, but to the many streams of video content that populate the Web. If it’s on the Web, it should be available on your TV set, via AppleTV, pure and simple. And the people who will bring those services to your TV? Third party software developers."
Gene Munster? Not so much.
Memristor minds: The future of artificial intelligence - tech - 08 July 2009 - New Scientist: Pretty interesting overview of the discovery of memristors, and how they could be used for AI. Maybe Kevin's robots are going to come and wipe us out after all?
Tech Trader Daily - Barron’s Online : Apple: Weisel Ups Estimates After Management Mtgs: Pretty interesting note from an analyst -- in particular he states that Apple management indicated "a clear preference for movement further away from exclusive carrier agreements for iPhone" and that the oft-rumoured tablet is unlikely to happen. I find the first statement to be pretty good news, and the second to be extremely plausible.

John Resig - Eulogy to _why: I had the distinct pleasure of seeing _why "perform" (for lack of a better word) at Oscon many years ago, and it was pretty amazing. (via Daring Fireball)
