When Rushabh moved out, he took Comcast with him. I've been "surviving" by using the Verizon EVDO modem that I have from work -- which is fine for e-mail, SSH, and light web surfing, but not for doing massive downloads. So when Euan got Comcast installed today, I decided to fire up Software Update on my iMac in order to "test" the new connection:
The good news, is that Comcast is pretty fast, and it didn't take all that long to download this mess. I can't imagine downloading all of that over a 56K modem, much less over EVDO. I think Apple needs to start advertising that a broadband internet connection is required in order to use Mac OS X...
