While I haven't watched Phil Schiller's keynote from earlier today yet, I think I can go back over my predictions, and see how I did. I was right about iTunes going DRM free (for music only), but wrong about everything else with iTunes (no additional content announced, no HD movie rentals on anything other than Apple TV). I was right about the new 17\" MacBook Pro (and I even found the sealed battery believable), but I was wrong about Quad Core CPUs, a bumped iMac, and a new Mac mini. I'm actually pretty surprised that the Mac mini wasn't updated. I'm with John Gruber that I believe that the mini is a strong seller, but that Apple management isn't really that interested in it. Still, they could really goose sales with some fairly minor updates. The lack of progress here is pretty interesting.

I was right about new iWork and iLife being announced. And I was partially correct about the \"iWork in the cloud\" rumors - I got the Quick Look part right (although Apple isn't calling it that for some reason), but Apple definitely exceeded my expectations here by focusing on document collaboration. This could actually be pretty cool, depending upon how it's implemented. I'll be checking this out when I hit the show floor.

And finally, I was totally wrong about the \"Apple Home Media Server\". I still think it's a good idea that fits not only with Apple's current products, but where I see their products evolving over the next 5 years. But I can see how it would be pretty thorny to implement, both on the technical side and the legal side. So while I believe this exists in some sub-basement at 1 Infinite Loop, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this product never sees the light of day.

All-in-all, not a great record. Looks like I better stick with my day job. ;)
