  • Convergence: Smartphones vs. Netbooks, or Consumption vs. Creation? « Shebanation: After seeing another lame "Apple's response to the netbook is the iPhone" blog post today, I was glad to find this message examining the differences between smartphones, netbooks, and full-sized notebooks. Even if Apple were add support for bluetooth keyboards to the iPhone, the screen would still be too small, and it's multitasking capabilities too thin, to make it an acceptable content creation platform. Hence, my desire for a netbook, and why I think that this whole netbook thing is in fact not a fad.

  • Strategic shortcomings of Pre in the post-iPhone era « counternotions: This is a decent roundup of the new Palm Pre - Palm is attacking some of Apple's weak spots, but at this point, the Pre's lateness to the market, combined with Palm and Sprint's overall health, could make this new phone a tough sell. I'm not really interested in speculating any more -- I think it's all a matter of playing wait and see.

  • VAIO P in-depth impressions - Engadget: Okay, this thing does look pretty cool. But it actually looks so small, that it might be hard to use on a lap. I'm definitely going to have to check this thing out at the SonyStyle store in S.F....
