So, comments have been disabled around here for a few weeks, because of comment spam. Modern versions of Movable Type are pretty good about trapping all of the spam and keeping it from showing up on my blog. The problem is that it consumes a lot of CPU on my server - a separate perl process has to be spawned in order to run the comment script. Unfortunately, the spammers aren't that smart - they try and post as much as possible, and my machine runs out of resources.

So, today I installed Disqus. I'm going to give that a shot for a little while, and see how it goes. It seems sortof strange to outsource my blog comments - but, I guess that's the modern web for you.
