So, Kevin remarked to me the other day that in his opinion, I haven't been posting nearly enough about "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". And you know what? For once, he's actually right about something!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

The first act of Dr. Horrible went live on the Internet last night - you can either watch the stream (via Hulu of all places), or download all 3 acts as a season pass from iTunes for a mere $4.

Now, if you're still reading (and why??? You should be off watching Act I!), I'll talk at you about why Dr. Horrible is so important. The first, and most obvious reason, is that aside from some comic books and a couple of directorial efforts of "The Office", we haven't had any new filmed entertainment from Joss Whedon since 2005's "Serenity".

Secondly, what Joss and co. are trying to do with Dr. Horrible is to take their ideas and creativity directly to the people, via the magic of the Internet, rather than distilling and watering down their ideas by going through one of the giant media conglomerates. During the writers strike, it seemed obvious to me that the creative types who were disappointed by their treatment at the hands of the conglomerates should just go and make content directly for the Internet. But as these interviews with Joss point out, the doing of something is always harder than the talking. And so in a way, Dr. Horrible is a grand experiment, to see if this sort of "obvious" idea can actually work.

Thus, it's important for those of us who care about quality entertainment to support Dr. Horrible in any way possible. So tell all of your friends (and enemies!). But most importantly, watch!
