Pretty amazing week

| Comments

This week was pretty amazing. I don't normally do a "week in review", but I don't want to forget about this week (and I will, unless I blog about it, so that I can read about it later). And pretty much everything went down on Wednesday:

  • Mario Kart Wii got a release date. I have already begun the trash-talk with Kevin.
  • And speaking of Mario Kart, I also trounced Kevin in an "All Cup" on Wednesday. That doesn't happen very often, and he was so pissed about it that he has brutalized me in the two "All Cups" that we've played since. ;)
  • Serenity: Better Days #1 was released. And it's pretty good to boot - I mean, at this point, I'll take pretty much anything set in the 'verse, but this has the added benefit of being co-written by Joss himself.
  • The new WALL•E trailer hit, and it's a doozy. I'm really looking forward to that movie, along with the new Indiana Jones.
  • And last, but certainly not least, I accepted a new job, with a new company, on Wednesday.

I'm pretty excited to be taking on a new role at Sugar Publishing Inc., starting in late April. While I really appreciate my time at Aggregate Knowledge, and worked with a swell bunch of folks there, it is time for me to move on. Sometime last year, I started evaluating my career, and decided that due to my incessant interest in consumer-focused companies, it makes a lot of sense for me to stop reading about those kinds of companies, and to start participating instead.

This new job is going to bring a fair amount of change into my life - Sugar is based up in San Francisco, so I'm going to be riding the train every day. On the plus side, there will be no more dealing with the variability of 101 traffic (there were 4 accidents yesterday when I was trying to leave the office, for example). On the down side, I'm going to have to wake up at 7 AM every work day. That's going to take me a bit to get used to. ;) But I'm looking forward to being to spend time during my commute reading, watching TV shows from iTunes, writing in my blog, etc.

Anyways, I think it's going to be fun, and I'm looking forward to staring the next "new era".
