I don't suppose I could convince you to join me in my small protest and wait two weeks to see Star Wars. I'm not totally down on the first two movies but if the movie studio is going to get the message that Lucas shouldn't be writing his own ham-fisted dialogue, they have got to be hit in the wallet.

by denying income during the first two critical weeks, the movie flops. the following weeks aren't that important from a metrics collecting point of view. If episodes 7 8 and 9 are going to be made, Fox should get the picture that Lucas should produce, not direct and write.

by waiting two weeks, you still get to see it and there's an outside chance that Fox might reign Lucas in a bit.

Or not. who am I to tell anyone not to go enjoy star wars. Keep in mind though, the trailer looked awesome but it's easy to compress 2 hours of crap into 3 wonderful minutes.

One of the TV ads already let slip a Lucas writing gem. "Anakin, you're breaking my heart". Who says that? Ever hear of subtlety George?

The rest of your schedule looks good. Carry on.

Lucas has probably already made a profit on Episode III, what with all of the merchandising rights.

If you're sincerely pissed at him, lead a charge to boycott when he re-releases the original trilogy in theatres again, but this time in 3D, sometime next year. I could see myself not giving a damn about that.

The point isn't to hurt Lucas but rather the production company, Fox. If they see sales drop off and connect that to Lucas being in charge of everything, perhaps they will rethink letting him write further screenplays.
