I got really interested when I heard that apple was releasing a product with a reasonable price. I even toyed with the idea of making my next computer a $500 mac. Then I checked the specs and saw that dollar for dollar this still looked like a weaker machine than what I bought. It's like a tenth of the volume of my emachine but I'm not exactly living in Japan so the size isn't a factor to me. It'll probably increase their market share a bit but they'd have to cut that price in half for me to consider it.
If it can serve multiple people like in a university lab setting, it seems like a good buy.
