  Q. You put a camcorder on the iPod Nano. Why not on the iPod Touch?

  A. Originally, we weren’t exactly sure how to market the Touch. Was it an iPhone without the phone? Was it a pocket computer? What happened was, what customers told us was, they started to see it as a game machine. Because a lot of the games were free on the store. Customers started to tell us, “You don’t know what you’ve got here — it’s a great game machine, with the multitouch screen, the accelerometer, and so on.”

  This still doesn't explain why Apple didn't add the camera to the high-end iPod touch, however.

I'm liking the new architecture, but you're not going to see any of these chips in Macs from Apple. Looks like we'll have to wait for the "more mobile" version of Nehalem, which is supposed to come out early next year.

• iPhone creating more cash for Apple than widely believed? | MacNN: A conspiracy theorist would think that Apple was purposefully lowering its margins on the Macintosh business, in order to hide the immense profits being generated in the iPhone business.
