Lollapalooza '09: Day 2

My second day at Lollapalooza was quite a bit different than the first -- It was a lot hotter (but no rain), there were a ton more people, we stayed later, and I was pretty-much there to see one band (Tool). Nevertheless, I did manage to check out some bands that I had never heard of before, including Arctic Monkeys and TV on the Radio. The latter was actually pretty cool, and I'll be checking into them further.

The only non-Tool band that I expressly wanted to see today was Glasvegas:

Glasvegas
James Allan of Glasvegas

This was my first time seeing them live, and they didn't disappoint. Their stage presence was a little interesting - the drummer was standing, the lead singer was mostly behind the mic, when he wasn't sitting on the stage and singing, and the lead guitarist alternated between guitar and keyboards. The funniest thing was that some super fans made a custom sign, which I thought was extremely appropriate:

Glasvegas - here we fucking go
That about sums it up

After Glasvegas, Mark and Laura joined us for a spell -- I think they got taken a bit, they thought that this was going to be the last Lollapalooza, and when Mark bought his tickets, the Beastie Boys were still on the bill. Still, it seemed like they had a decent night out without the kid, and now Laura knows what a Tool show is like... ;)

More photos here, and a proper review of Tool in a subsequent post.
