New addition(s) to my parents family

Well, my dad wore my mom down, and after only a month and a half, they have gotten a new dog. Well, as it turns out, they got two dogs:

Max and Magaggie
Maggie and Max

Sara sent me an e-mail telling me the news, that I thought was pretty funny. So rather than regurgitate what she said, I'm just posting her e-mail after the jump...

From Sara:

Today Mom and Dad adopted two Westies from a rescue in Lombard. Meet Max (right) and Maggie... or as I call her, Magaggie:

Marge: Homer! You didn't do a very good job frosting Maggie's birthday cake.
Homer: [walking in] What? [reads lettering] It's not Magaggie's birthday?
Oh. [eats the extra "a" and "g", then eats other letters]
Marge: Hey, hey, hey, hey! Stop it. I made a special cake for you to ruin. It's over there.

Maggie (note the pink collar, that was Mom's idea) is six years old and very mellow.

Max is two and a half and is definitely the more vocal one. He has some kind of pre-existing skin allergy so he's scratching himself quite a bit. He's also eager to mark his new territory.

Max, Mom and Maggie. Don't worry, Mom knows she's lost her grip on sanity and is royally screwed.

Maggie jumped up in the chair while Mom was making an appointment to get them checked out at the vet and discuss food options (Maggie is as big as Scout was and weighs in at 27 lbs). We're not used to having non-arthritic dogs.

Doing something I've dubbed "The Westie Train" where one follows the same path as the other while they sniff out their new territory. Maggie always takes the lead.

Like most male dogs, Max is a butt sniffer.

Oh yeah. He is doing what you think he's doing.

Ha. Ha.

Congrats to your parents! They are so cute!!!!!

There are more dog food recalls, so make sure your parents avoid anything with wheat or rice gluten in it! We had a scare this week as the brand we feed (which is highly rated) was recalled. However, its not the formula we feed. Your mom might want to check out a grain free diet (its good for allergies) such as Duck and Potato or Fish and Sweet Potato.
